Now, GHMC to dispose off building applications in 17 to 21 days

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to dispose the building applications in 17 and 21 days by fixing responsibilities on the town planning officials at various levels.

HYDERABAD: With the State government revising the time limits for disposal of online building plan approval system (Development Permission Management System) from 30 days to 21 days recently to enhance Ease of Doing Business, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to dispose the building applications in 17 and 21 days by fixing responsibilities on the town planning officials at various levels.

Online building applications received at 30 Circle and five Zonal offices should be disposed off in 17 working days while applications received at the GHMC head office, Tank Bund will be cleared in 21 working days for multi storied complexes, shopping malls. 

Any lapse on town planning authorities to dispose within the stipulated time period, would be dealt seriously and a penalty of `1,000 per day would be slapped on the erring officials.The orders issued by GHMC Commissioner has come into force with immediate effect.The applications that are received at Circle level have to be disposed off either approved or rejected in 17 days.

Of these working 17 days, town planning section after scrutinising has to forward the process file in seven days (in which five days are given to intimate the applicants if there are any shortfall of documents), after that it is sent to Assistant City Planner (ACP) who has to process the file in three days (two days are given to intimate the shortfalls).

From ACP, file goes to Deputy Municipal Commissioner who has to clear the file in three days, after clearance, the ACP sends fee intimation payment in two days. After fees payment, ACP will issue proceeding letter to the applicant of building approval.Similarly, applications received at Zonal level have to clear the file either approved or rejected in 17 days. Of these working 17 days, ACP after scrutiny in seven days (five days to intimate the applicants if there are any shortfall of documents),
after that it is sent to City Planner (CP) who has to process the file in three days.

From CP, file goes to Zonal Commissioner who has to clear the file in three days, after clearance, the ACP sends fee intimation payment in two days. After that, ACP will issue proceeding letter to the applicant of building approval.

Whereas, applications received at GHMC head office, has to be cleared in 21 days.In case of those applications which require clearance from external agencies such as Fire, Irrigation (water body), nala, SRDP, the respective HODs should ensure that necessary remarks are given within a week time.The time taken by the agencies is excluded from the overall time limit for disposal of building permissions.
