GHMC starts multiple new programmes including creation of HRDCL

HYDERABAD: The corporation listed Municipal Bonds in Bombay Stock Exchange in February 2018 as a means of resource mobilisation from the open market. Rs 486 crore realised. The corporation also started programmes such as Mana Nagaram, one-lakh double bedrooms dignity housing scheme to be completed by June 2019,  Strategic Road Development Plan with an investment of Rs 25,000 crore, creation of Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited  (HRDCL) which now maintains 41 roads for 240 km of R&B in GHMC limits, four National Highways (52 km) and seven roads covering 32 km in city.

The Board took up Rs 1,900 crore water supply improvement project for peripheral circles under Mission Bhagiratha. About 56 reservoirs of 280 MLD capacity, 2,000 km of trunk and distribution network completed. Rs 750 crore water supply improvement project for villages within ORR under Urban Mission Bhagiratha is going on at a brisk pace. 180 reservoirs and 2,000 km pipeline network. To eliminate manual scavenging, 70 mini sewer jetting machines which can move easily narrow lanes were introduced. Board plans to develop sewerage system in city outskirts including STPs for tertiary level with reuse and recycle for 1000 MLD project costing Rs 1,000 crore.

Hyderabad Metro Rail

Second stretch covering Ameerpet to LB Nagar (16 km) would be commissioned byAugust. Ameerpet to Hitech city (10 km) would be opened in October. Development of smart parking system at all metro stations and multi-level parking complexes in 40 open sites.

Airport Express Metro Corridor

In the Phase-II expansion of metro rail,  airport express metro between Raidurg and Shamshabad (30)  costing Rs 4,465 crore, detailed project report are under preparation. BHEL to Lakdikapul (26 km), Nagole to LB Nagar (5 km) are being planned.

Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority

Development of Regional Ring Road and 21 lakes including Gandipet, construction of 44 foot-over bridges, the establishment of ecotourism park and night safari, development of Shilparamam, development of 13 satellite townships along ORR.

Commissioner and Director Municipal Administration:

To achieve 10 per cent green cover in urban areas, development of parks and burial grounds, setting up of open gyms in 307 identified parks, scientific disposal of solid waste, preparation of GIS maps for 37 ULBs and master plans of 20 ULBs.
