KOCHI: Describing the murder of a woman by her husband as gruesome, inhuman, brutal and diabolic, the Ernakulam Sessions Court on Tuesday awarded death sentence to the accused. The murder, committed by Unni, of Perumbavoor, comes in the category of the rarest of rare cases, the court observed.
District Judge Kamal Pasha awarded the death sentence under Section 302 of the IPC.
The court also awarded the accused rigorous imprisonment for life and directed him to remit a fine of `5 lakh, which should be given to the victim's parents, in the case relating to attacking them.
