Metal heads have something to rejoice this winter. Come Saturday, music aficionados will witness a rocking musical treat. Yes! Coinciding with the World AIDS Day celebrations, three sought-after rock bands in the state will be performing live at Gold Souk on December 1.

The performing bands are ‘Two Decades And After’, ‘Redemption’ and ‘Absolute Convergence’. The event organised by the event management company ‘INK’ aims at promoting the growing rock scene among the youth and also to create an awareness about AIDS.

The rock bands of the state are joining hands for the theme ‘Garage Rock’ with the aim of bringing together the metal music freaks of the city for the rocking jamming session.

The band ‘Two Decades and After’ is the headlining band at the show. The Kochi-based six piece experimental groove metal band lines up with Girish J Menon and Sanches Fernandez on vocals, Ryan Luiz on lead guitar, Sreekant Bhasi on rhythm guitar, Sreejith V U on bass and Pai Sailesh on drums. They have completed almost four songs of their own composition. Their influences are ‘Lamb of God’, ‘Periphery’, ‘Threat Signal’ and ‘Animal’ as Leaders.

‘Absolute Convergence’ is a Kozhikode-based band that has already worked on four singles and has performed at several places in and outside the state. It is a five - piece progressive metal band with a mathematical concept which deals with the convergence of real numbers from 0 to 9. Metaphorically, they express themselves with the concept of the convergence of human beings who share same thoughts irrespective of caste, class, community or religion. Their influences are ‘Slayer’, ‘MotorHead’, ‘Lamb of God’, ‘Dream Theater’ and ‘Bullet for My Valentine’.

‘Redemption’ is a Kochi-based melodic metalcore band. It believes in ‘Music for a purpose’ and is being bent on giving message in each of their compositions. The six piece band includes Mathew Joe on lead vocals, Stephen Mathison on guitar and vocals, Rey Benher on Guitar, Justin Mohan on bass, Palee Francis on keyboard and Jose Mathew on Drums.
