Teachers’ Day celebrated in district

District Collector Sheik Pareeth inaugurated the Teacher’s Day celebrations of Ernakulam Revenue District at SRV Vocational Higher Secondary School on Wednesday.

T K Jose, managing director of Coconut Development Board, has said that each teacher is committed to imparting values to students while giving the keynote address.

Deputy Director of Education M D Murali who presided over the function hoisted the flag. State teachers award winners M C Sugunan and R K Soman and around 30 teachers with 33 years’ of service were honoured.

The PTA of GHSS Elamakkara won the best PTA award. DIET Principal V Muralidharan, DPO (SSA) Shine Mon, AEOs Sreekala, M K Ravindranath and T P Suresh Babu and school Principal Gracy Joseph spoke.

Celebrations were held in all the schools across the city with students and teachers organising various programmes.

 Sanskrit Exhibition Held In connection with Teachers’ Day celebration, a Sanskrit exhibition was organised at Amrita School of Arts and Science here on Wednesday. The exhibition tried to portray that the  knowledge of the ancestors was too vast that they had the information even about modern technologies.

The exhibition was organised by the team of students led by Sridevi, a member of Vishwasanskritha Prathishtan.

Also, the students staged a Sanskrit skit that focused on the values of education. Students of different batches honoured their teachers.  Anaghamritha Chaithanya delivered keynote address on the occasion.
