Fr Elias to be elevated as ‘Cor Episcopa’

Fr Kaiprambatt Elias, 62, senior priest at the Angamaly diocese of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, Nedumbassery, will be awarded the title of the ‘Cor Episcopa’.

Fr Elias is a member of St Mary’s parish,  Mekkad, and is now serving as a vicar at St Thomas Church, North Paravur. In his 37 years of service, Fr Elias has served on the managing committee of the Jacobite Syrian Church. He has held various positions, including the council member of the Angamaly diocese, office-bearer of the priestly society and as the chief inspector.

He has also served as a vicar in churches in Nedumbassery, Vappalasserry, Angamaly, Azhakam, Karayamparambu, Peechanikkadu, Mookkannoor, Poothamkutty and Neduvannoor. The ceremony will be held at 7 am on Friday at the St Athanasios Cathedral, Patriarchal Centre, Puthencruz.

Catholicos Baselios Thomas I and other Metropolitans of Jacobite Syrian Christian Church will take part.
