Manjula Chellur to be sworn in Chief Justice on Wednesday

Acting Chief Justice Manjula Chellur will be sworn in the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court before the Kerala Governor at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram on September 26.

Governor H R Bharadwaj will administer the oath to Manjula Chellur who was a former justice at the Karnataka High Court. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 11.30 am. Senior judges of the Kerala High Court, including C N Ramachandran Nair, Kemal Pasha, Registrar General of the High Court, and judges from Karnataka will participate.

Manjula Chellur was sworn in a judge of the Kerala High Court last November and she has been serving as the Acting Chief Justice since then. She enrolled as an advocate on August 11, 1978, and practised at the courts in Bellary district, Karnataka.

She joined the Karnataka judicial service as a District Judge on April 15, 1988. She was appointed an Additional Judge of the Karnataka HC on February 21, 2000 and as a permanent judge on August 17 in the same year.
