Kathakali performance at TDM Hall

The Bank E m p l o y e e s A r t s Movement Ernakulam (BEAME) in association with Ernakulam K a r a y o g a m a n d Ernakulam Kathakali Club is organising ‘Keechaka Vadham’ Kathakali at TDM Hall in the city on Thursday at 6 pm.

 Iraymman Thampy’s Keechaka Vadham has been popular among Kathakali lovers due to its literature and musical value.

 Noted Kathakali artiste Ettumanoor Kannan essays the role of Keechakan, a popular character among those who specialises in Kathi vesham - which portrays villainous characters.

 Kalamandalam Vijayakumar depicts the character Sairandhri.

 Other characters will be played by RLV Pramod (Sudeshna) and Kalamandalam Arun Kumar (Valalan).

 Others in the back stage are Kalamandalam Venu Mohan (Chenda), Kalamandalam Ragesh (Maddalam), Sadanam Saji (Chutti) and Kadavil Kumaran.

 The annual general body meeting of BEAME has elected K Radhakrishnan (president), K P Ajith Kumar (vice president), C K Asokan (secretary), A N Ravindran, P Suresh KUmar, C T Ajith, S Ramachandran and George Zakharia.
