Film society for a cause

In keeping with the state’s love for cinema, students from the prominent colleges of the state have formed a film society, ‘Kerala Chalachithra Film Society’.

The students society that was formed recently has already embarked upon making a film of their own to provide opportunities for young aspiring artists.

The society aims to bring together artists with ideas and dreams for cinema and also to bring about reforms in the field so that these youth get an opportunity to make use of their talent.

The project to make a film of their own is the first step towards this goal. Both the cast and the crew of the film will be debutants. Experienced hands will assist the students in the project.

The selection of crew of the film will be done in two phases. The selection of script writers and directors will be done in the first phase.

The logo of the Kerala Chalachithra Film Society was released by noted Iranain filmmaker Hana Makhmalbaf, who visited the city recently.

Student of Cochin university Jinto John has been selected the state president of the society and Law College student Muhammad Naufaas, general secretary.
