Maradu plant: Land to be ready by January 31

The district administration will complete the entire land acquisition for the Rs 201-crore Maradu water treatment plant project before January 31.

According to a statement issued by Ernakulam District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth, the acquired land will be handed over to the Requisitioning Authority before February 1.

The statement also said that 90 per cent of the land acquisition is already completed. “The district administration has already handed over the land acquired at Piravom, Maradu, Kanayannoor and  Nadama Thekkumbhagam to the Corporation. The land which was not included in the survey will be acquired as per additional acquisition rules,” the statement added.

As per the Maradu water treatment plant project, water will be drawn from Muvattupuzha river at Pazhoorkkadavu and will be brought to the treatment plant near Maradu.
