Mattanchery leading in Youth Festival

Mattanchery sub-district is leading with 108 points, and Tripunithura is close behind with 100 points in the UP category on the third day, on Friday, of the 25th Revenue District Youth Festival being held in Kolenchery.

Students in each of the 14 sub-districts participated in 27 items, and are gearing up to participate in six more.

In the HS section, Aluva is leading with 255 points, and Tripunithura is second with 229 points, when 61 items were completed. Contests in 27 items have to be held.

In the HSS section, Aluva is leading with 279 points, and North Parur is second with 270 points, after staging 76 items.

Contests in 28 more items have to be held.

In the Sanskritolsavam contests, Aluva, with 85 points, is the winner, and Perumbavoor and Tripunithura with 84 points each are the runners-up in the UP category.

In the HS category, Aluva is the winner with 89 points and Perumbavoor the runner-up with 88 points.

In the Arabic festival, Tripunithura is leading with 50 points in the UP category, and close on its heels is Kolenchery with 48 points. Three more items have to be staged, while 10 have been completed.

In the HS category, Kolenchery is leading with 75 points, and Perumbavoor is close behind with 71 points, when 15 items were completed. Four more items have to be held.

Neck-and-neck contests are expected to be held on the concluding day, on Saturday.
