There will be traffic regulations in the city in the wake of President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit for the valedictory function of Pravasi Bharati Divas on Wednesday.

The President will be arriving in a special aircraft at INS Garuda at 4.15 pm and he would be leaving the same day by 6.15 pm.

Traffic would be regulated at the Naval Base, BOT Junction, Alexander Parambithara Road, Thevara Ferry Junction and Kundannoor Junction from 4.30 pm to 5 pm and from 5.45 pm and 6.15 pm.

The police also have imposed a ban on the parking of the vehicles following the arrival of VVIPs for the programme. Parking would be banned from Kundanoor Junction to Crown Plaza Hotel. The ban will continue at Highway underpass, Hotel Le Meridien and service road till Kundannoor Junction.

From 2 pm to 6.15 pm parking would not be permitted from Vembanad gate to BOT and BOT to Kundannoor bridge.

Any vehicle parked in this area would be  removed using recovery van. The police also said that when the VVIPs pass through this road, traffic would be blocked and only emergency vehicles like Ambulance and Fire and Rescue Service vehicles would be permitted.
