The police, with the assistance of KCA, would continue to monitor the security of the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium using the cameras installed there even after the cricket match.
The KCA has decided to connect the 50 new cameras installed inside and outside the stadium with the Kochi Police Control Room so that they can monitor the security of the stadium throughout the day.
“The move is a part of Integrated Digital Security System programme launched by the Kochi Police. The KCA as agreed to connected the cameras at the stadium with the Police Control Room. The police can monitor the security of the stadium throughout the day. The KCA has also installed streetlights in the road leading to the stadium which would make it easy to maintain security,” K Padmakumar, Inspector-General of Police, Kochi Range said.
