Preparations for the One-day International match between India and England has been completed, said Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) officials.
According to them, this is the second-fastest ticket sale recorded in the history of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
The fastest sale happened during India-Pakistan match that took place at April 2005.
KCA secretary T C Mathew said tickets worth `1.5 crore have been sold and tickets worth `25 lakhs are left for sale. They are available at KCA office in Kochi. The online ticket sale ended on Sunday.
According to the officials, the stadium would be jam-packed and the weather is expected to be favourable on the day of the match. “We expect the match to be a great success. It would be good experience for the cricket fans in the state,” T C Mathew said.
