Sell 70 percent of allotted rice, ration dealers told

District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth demanded that ration shop retail dealers sell at least seventy percent of rice allotted during Onam. He was speaking at a meeting convened to assess the situation caused by ration dealers showing reluctance to procure rice for a higher price and sell it. The stipulated time to sell the rice, allotted during Onam, was January 31.

Pareeth said that the apprehensions of ration dealers will be brought to the attention of the government. District supply officer, taluk supply officers and ration shop retail dealers attended the meeting.
