Four Chinmaya students to visit US University

Four students from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, will visit the Elon University, North Carolina, US, as part of a month-long student exchange programme.

“Elon University is a known for its teaching methodology and is considered to be one of the best universities in Southern USA.

Delegations from the varsity have visited Chinmaya Vidyalaya often as part of its ‘yearly travel centre’ of science exhibition,” school principal Maya Mohan said.

The delegation from Chinmaya school includes four students and one teaching staff. Anirudh Dhar and Namita Sunil of Class XI and Aravind Kumar and Sandhya K of Class X will represent the school in the exchange  programme.

They will be accompanied by Physics teacher Tuney Kumar. The students will engage in a variety of programmes -- both academic and extra-curricular. 

A typical session will have classes on neuroscience, reptile biology, ancient philosophy and political studies, while evening sessions will include activities like taekwondo, hip-hop, swimming and improvement theatre.

Other activities include trips to Smoky Mountains, North Carolina coast and other colleges.
