The Perumbavoor police have arrested a girl, an MBA student in a private college at Marampally, for allegedly taking and circulating nude visuals of her hostel mates.

Harikrishnan K, DSP, Perumbavoor, said as per the preliminary inquiry, the girl was trapped and forced by her lover, a Malayali MBA student in the UK, to do the crime.

“Her boyfriend told her that he urgently needed Rs 10 lakh to survive in the UK. He induced her to shoot nude visuals of her hostel mates using secret camera.

He also taught her how to use the camera. She kept it in a shoe box and managed to capture bathroom visuals of three friends. Two of the visuals are not that clear. She sent this visuals to her boyfriend using Internet,” he said.

The DSP said the crime came to the notice of her friends accidentally.

“When the accused girl had gone on a tour, her friends used her laptop. One of them accidentally happened to read the chat history.

“The girls saw her online chat with her boyfriend about the camera operation. The agitated friends complained to the principal who then forwarded the complaint to us,” Harikrishnan  said.

The police would send the laptop for a detailed cyber forensic examination, he said.
