Rain camp held at Mangalavanam

The Nehru Yuva Kendra, in association with Youth Hostel and Forest Department, on Thursday held a one-day monsoon rain camp at Mangalavanam bird sanctuary here. Deputy Mayor B Bhadra inaugurated the camp. “Mangalavanam should be preserved as the heartland of the metro city,” she said. She urged the authorities to be vigilant to preserve Mangalavanam. Poet and writer P K Shankaranarayanan took classes. Youth Hostel Association secretary A K Rajan, Nehru Yuva Kendra district co-ordinator Jain George, forest official P O Tomy, M S Sashidaran (OISCA), Kuruvila Mathews

(Residents Association Apex Council) and Eloor Gopinath were present.
