Certificate handed over

Australian Consul General to South India David Holly has said that the trade between the two nations has doubled in six years.

He was speaking at the ceremony to hand over the Australian Council o Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) accreditation certificate to KIMS Hospital here on Saturday.

He said that Indian investors had invested $11 billion in Australia last year and his country had pumped in $6 billion into India.

“The migration from India to Australia is increasing and the government is exploring new opportunities to join hands. An Australian trade and investor office had started functioning in Kochi in 2010,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister K V Thomas said that Kerala is progressing in the healthcare sector by giving emphasis on quality.

Earlier, KIMS chairman and managing director Dr M I Sahadulla received the certificate from David Holly. Minister K Babu, KIMS executive directors C H A Raheem, E M Najeeb and IMA Kochi president Dr N Dinesh spoke on the occasion.
