AIMS medical team sent to Uttarakhand

A disaster medical team from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences was dispatched to flood-ravaged Uttarakhand on Thursday.

A disaster medical team from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences was dispatched to flood-ravaged Uttarakhand on Thursday.

The 30-member team is led by Dr Jaggu. The disaster team, including nurses and paramedical staff,  is also equipped with telemedicine, two emergency ambulances, cardiac facilities, emergency unit and a system to detect symptoms of rat fever and dengue fever in just two minutes. The team was given a sendoff at AIMS here. Benny Behanan MLA was the chief guest of the sendoff function, which was presided over by Dr Prem Nair.
