Paying tribute to Rituparno Ghosh, the Kochi Metro Film Society conducted a screening of two of his films in the mini theater in Children’s Park on Saturday. The films that were screened were ‘Unishe April’ and ‘Chitrangada-The Crowning Wish’.
As the lights went out in the mini theater, a packed audience of around 50 film enthusiasts from various walks of life, mused over the lights, shadows and intense drama that had set a trailblazer of new wave Bengali Cinema. Those who had seen the reel-magic of Rituparno Ghosh before said that it was a refreshing experience for them and for the new kids around the corner, they said they got to relaise why there was a lot of tears and whispers in the media when ‘Rituda’ died.
