A man was killed and three others were injured when a bridge at Veettoor, Muvattapuzha, collapsed on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Raman, a retired KSRTC officer.
The incident took place while the people were crossing the four-metre walkway between Arivikkal Temple and Government L P School. Raman was crushed under a loose slab. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared brought dead. The other injured are Raman’s wife Lakshmi, Krishnankutty, 60, and Savathri, 55. According to police, the bridge was old and not strong enough to support many persons.
