The police are investigating complaints by parents that four students including two girls studying in classes X and XI and two boys from class XI are missing since Tuesday.

According to the police, a complaint was filed on Wednesday by the parents of the missing students who are studying at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Katari Bagh.

Two residences of two students are in the jurisdiction of the Harbour Police, while that of other two fall under the Thoppumpady Circle.

“The boys told their parents that they have to complete some project work in the school and left home by noon on Tuesday. The girls said that they are going to meet some friends and left home by 11 am the same day. Later in the evening, when the parents tried to call them, they found that the cell-phones were switched off,” the police said.

A case has been registered based on the complaint of the parents, and the police have started an inquiry.

“We learnt that these students are close friends. We have traced the location of the mobile tower and learnt that they are near Thiruvananthapuram. We have extended our investigation to that area,” they added.
