Seven teachers, including the chief superintendent of SNDP Higher Secondary School in Nadakkavu, Udayamperoor, were suspended from examination duties due to the delay caused in the distribution of question papers of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination that commenced in the state on Monday.

The delay caused panic and apprehension among the students who had come to attend the Malayalam examination.

Around 460 students, the highest number from the Ernakulam Revenue district, were writing the examination in the school.

A primary inquiry revealed that the teachers had failed in discharging their duty.

A detailed enquiry will be held within two days and the report will be submitted to the examination secretary, said sources.
