Workshop on ornamental pisciculture

A two-day national workshop organised jointly by the Department of Aquaculture of St Albert’s College and the Women Empowerment Cell of UGC on ‘Women Entrepreneurship Empowerment through Ornamental Pisciculture,’ commenced at St Albert’s College on Wednesday.

Dr Ashalatha, senior scientist, Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), inaugurated the event. She said that ornamental pisciculture is a highly profitable venture and very easy to carry out by women who are planning on becoming entrepreneurs. She added that funds should be provided for the same by various Central or state agencies. The seminar seeks to train students for ornamental pisciculture.
