A warm reception was given to Bahrain Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa at the Cochin International Airport on Sunday.
The senior functionaries of the state led by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy were present at the airport to receive him. Chandy presented a lotus bouquet and formally welcomed him to the state.
Khalifa and a 36-member team from Bahrain arrived on a chartered flight. He was received at the airport around 7 pm. Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahmed and Ministers P K Kunhalikutty, V K Ebrahim Kunju and K C Joseph and KP Dhanapalan MP, Anwar Sadath MLA, General Administration Department Secretary K R Jyothilal, NORKA Roots Chairman M A Yousafali and IG K Padmakumar were also present.
Later he left for Hotel Le Meridian where he held discussions with the Chief Minister, ministers and officials from the state.
