Haridath case: ‘Don’t arrest CBI officers’

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed the Crime Branch not to arrest CBI officials S Unnikrishnan Nair and K K Rajan, who were arraigned in the CBI ASP Haridath suicide case till April 3. Justice P Bhavadasan passed the order and adjourned the case to April 3. The Kerala High Court had earlier quashed the First Information Report registered against the duo by the Crime Branch team probing the suicide case of CBI DySP Haridath. The court held that the names of the two officers appearing in Haridath’s suicide note is not reason enough to register a case against them.

However the investigating agency had approached the Supreme Court against the High Court verdict and given permission to the CB to continue the investigation in the case. But the court restrained the agency from filing the final report. The petitioner said that there may be chances of their being harassed by the investigating agency in view of the Supreme Court order.
