The annual budget for the Puthencruz grama panchayat projects a revenue of `15. 47 crore and expenditure of `15.09 crore for the 2013-14 fiscal.
The budget was presented on Saturday by vice-president K P Mathayi. Panchayat president Rama Saju presided.
The budget has set aside Rs 4.5 crore for housing projects. The project will be executed with the support of Ambalamugal BPCL Refinery.
Among other allotments, Rs 2.15 crore has been earmarked for the reconstruction and maintenance of roads in the panchayat, while Rs 1.25 crore was allocated for the employment guarantee scheme and another `55 lakh for women and child welfare programmes.
Rupees 93.5 lakh was alloted for SC/STs welfare projects and Rs 10 lakh for installing street lights.
Poothrikka grama panchayat also presented it budget on Saturday. Vice-president Sindhu Babby delivered the budget with an expected revenue of Rs 11.03 crore and expenditure of Rs 10.97 crore. Rupees 65 lakh has been earmarked for the construction of flats for SC/STs.
Among the other allocations, Rs 90 lakh will be spend on housing, Rs 1.40 crore on employment guarantee scheme and `50 lakh for the construction of a crematoria in the village.
