The Kerala High Court on Tuesday asked the state government to file an affidavit in response to a petition seeking to quash the alleged move of the Department of Water Resources to form a Kerala Water Supply Company Limited on the lines of the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL).
A Division Bench issued the directive while considering a plea filed by K K Ramachandran Master. According to the petitioner, the state’s decision will result in the increase in the cost of potable water. The petitioner raised the contention that there are possibilities of the water distribution being brought under the control of the proposed company.
