The 129th birth anniversary of poet, dramatis tand social reformer Pandit Karuppan will be celebrated under the ageis of VHP and Pandit Karuppan Vicharavedi on May 24 and 26.
Former HC judge (Kerala and Maharashtra) Justice K Sukumaran will inaugurate the programmes on May 26.
The first Kavithilakan Pandit Karuppan award will be given to poet Sugathakumari. Swami Gorakhnath, Agasthya Sidha Vaidyashram, Edavanakkadu, K K Balakrishnan and Vallikkavu Mohandas will attend the function. Kuruppan had fought against untouchability and other social evils.
