Protesting against rising inflation and the scam-tainted government, the LDF will take out a rally at Thrikkakara on Friday.  Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan will inaugurate the rally at Paattupurakkal at 5 pm.

In a press release issued here on Thursday, LDF district convener George Idapparathi stated that the rally intends to highlight the several scams, including gold-smuggling, along with the links of the present leaders with the underworld mafia.

LDF members stated that they had ended the secretariat siege after promises were given that the Chief Minister’s office would be brought under the judicial inquiry. The Home Minister had also stated that the terms of reference would be declared if the LDF gives an opinion in this regard.

However, these were fake promises, the LDF members alleged. The LDF is currently demanding an NIA probe into the Nedumbassery gold-smuggling case involving T K Fayaz.

The UDF policy has brought the agricultural sector to an all-time low, besides rising inflation, which has affected the common man.

Unemployment and caste divide are increasing among the people, the LDF alleged.
