Protesting against rising inflation and the scam-tainted government, the LDF will take out a rally at Thrikkakara on Friday.  Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan will inaugurate the rally at Paattupurakkal at 5 pm.

In a press release issued here on Thursday, LDF district convener George Idapparathi stated that the rally intends to highlight the several scams, including gold-smuggling, along with the links of the present leaders with the underworld mafia.

LDF members stated that they had ended the secretariat siege after promises were given that the Chief Minister’s office would be brought under the judicial inquiry. The Home Minister had also stated that the terms of reference would be declared if the LDF gives an opinion in this regard.

However, these were fake promises, the LDF members alleged. The LDF is currently demanding an NIA probe into the Nedumbassery gold-smuggling case involving T K Fayaz.

The UDF policy has brought the agricultural sector to an all-time low, besides rising inflation, which has affected the common man.

Unemployment and caste divide are increasing among the people, the LDF alleged.

CPM leader Anathalavattom Anandan, RSP Central secretariat member N K Premachandran, Janata Dal leader Jameela Prakasham MLA, NCP state vice-president Uzhavoor Vijayan, Kerala Congress chairman P C Thomas and Congress (S) state general secretary Anil Kaanjili will also participate at the function.

LDF state convener Vaikom Vishwan, CPM district secretary Dinesh Mani, NCP state president P Peethambaran Master, CPI district secretary E K Kumaran and RSP district secretary George Stephen will also be present.  As part of the agitation, a rally will also be held on Saturday at 10 am in Kochi.

The rally will reach Vypeen at 11 am,  Paravoor at 3 pm, Angamaly at 4 pm, Aluva at 5 pm and conclude Kalamassery at 6 pm. A similar rally will be taken out at Tripunithura on Sunday at 10 am.  The rally will proceed to Piravom at 11 am.
