A  three-day community service organised by INS Dronacharya at Good Hope Home, Fort Kochi, concluded on Thursday.

The  event was  organised as a prelude to   Navy Day, which falls on December 4.

The gunners of INS Dronacharya paraded their weapon prowess and precise drill movements at the continuity drill performed for senior citizens.  This was later followed by a performance by the Southern Naval Command band. The elders toured the maritime museum the next day. Day three commenced with the distribution of   various utility items, including grocery, toiletries, clothing, and footwears, to the 30 inmates. These items were given by members of the Indian Navy and the Navy Wives’ Welfare Association. The Navy children school band also performed for  the inmates. The Commanding Officer of INS Dronacharya, Captain Hari Krishnan, said all activities were planned in such a manner so as to cause minimum disruption to the daily routine of the elderly inmates.
