Dileep's parents vouch for his innocence in molestation case

They said that another conductor, who was in the bus, as well as the driver of the bus are currently in hiding and could be part of the conspiracy against thier son

The parents of Dileep, a bus conductor who had allegedly misbehaved with a college student in a private bus here, has come out in defence of their son claiming that he is innocent.

Shyamala, his mother, told reporters here that there was a conspiracy behind the arrest of her son, who has no previous offences to his name.

She said it is unfair to compare her son’s alleged deed to the Delhi rape case.

The parents stated that the police should conduct proper inquiry into the case.

They said that another conductor, who was in the bus, as well as the driver are currently in hiding and could be part of the conspiracy against her son.

“Dileep was manhandled a few days ago, because our bus (owned by Dileep’s father Babu Raj) had run extra time. When we operated extra time, it had angered other bus owners in the area. We had a registered a case after they manhandled Dileep last week. This attempt to malign our son’s image was meant to take revenge,” Shyamala said.

The police has currently suspended the permit of the bus. The parents said this has cut off the source of income for the family, which is already reeling under a debt of `5 lakh.

They will submit a memorandum to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in this regard, they added.
