The CBI on Thursday filed a closure report before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate on Sherbin death case. The CBI gave a clean chit to Rifas, the suspect and Sherbin’s husband.
Sherbin had died under suspicious circumstances at her matrimonial house at Thompumpady in January 2008.
According to the CBI, thorough investigation was carried out in the case.
Interrogation and polygraph test of the accused were conducted and they could found any instance of strangulation and cruelty which led to the death of Sherbin. Rifas was mentally disturbed after the incident.
The CBI investigated all aspects of the case and the role of Rifas behind the death of Sherbin could not be confirmed. Hence the closure report in the case has been filed.
