Police investigating the murder of four-year-old Aksa of Chottanikara will conduct potency tests on accused

Police investigating the murder of four-year-old Aksa of Chottanikara will conduct potency tests on accused Renjith and Basil. The police will also conduct DNA test of Aksa’s hair sample. According to Manuel Paul, Circle Inspector of Police, Piravom, potency tests of the accused would be conducted to confirm whether they had sexually abused the girl.

“The post-mortem report revealed that Aksa was not raped, but she was sexually abused. The accused have given statement in this regard. However, for confirming their statements, we filed a petition to conduct potency tests before the special court for trial of cases of atrocities against women and children in Kochi. Forensic experts had found hair of some other persons from the body of the victim. These samples have been sent to the forensic laboratory for DNA testing. The post-mortem report revealed that the death occurred due to injuries to brain,” he said.
