3,000 kids to participate in Arts Fest

‘Shalabhamela’, the annual arts competition organized by ‘Deseeya Balatharangam’ will be held at Koker’s Media City near Reserve Bank of India, Kaloor on November 30, December 1, 7 and 8. Around 3,000 students across the state are expected to participate in the competitions to be held in the four different age groups.

43 individual competitions and 9 group competitions will be arranged for the students who study under CBSE, ICSE and SCERT syllabus. A new age group for kindergarten students named ‘Narutharangam’ has been added this year along with other three groups. Each student can participate in eight individual and three group items. A girl and boy from every age group who achieve the highest scores will be felicitated with the ‘Salabharaja’ and ‘Salabharani’ titles respectively. Those who receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranks in each item can participate in the state-level ‘Shalabhamela’ to be held at Thiruvananthapuram. On behalf of the organising committee, M Premachandran, chairman, Advocate  T R Satheeshan, K V Johnson, Feba Maria and Z M Sherif spoke at the press meet.
