HC directive on border road repair

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed the Chief Secretary to the government of Kerala to take appropriate measures after discussing with the Tamil Nadu Government regarding the repair work of 8km road from Thirumala Kovil Junction to Kerala border. The 8km road from Thirumala Kovil Junction to Kerala border is being used by a large number of Sabarimala devotees.

A Division Bench comprising Justice T R Ramachandran Nair and Justice B Kemal Pasha issued the order while considering the report of the special commissioner appointed by the court.

The commissioner had filed a report on November 15 stating the necessity for urgent repair of the 8 km stretch.

The Bench held that since the road is in Tamil Nadu, the State Government has to approach the Tamil Nadu Government for urgent repair of the portion of the road.
