Aqua Show at Marine Drive from January 24

The five-day event is being organised as part of thee efforts to popularise  ornamental fish farming and to exploit its wide scope and opportunities.

The India International Aqua Show, organised by the State Government  once every two years, will be held at Kochi Marine Drive on January 24, 2014.

The five-day event is being organised as part of thee efforts to popularise  ornamental fish farming and to exploit its wide scope and opportunities.  The logo of the Aqua Show will be released by Fisheries and Excise Minister K Babu at a function to be held in Kochi on Saturday.

Works Minister V K Ibrahimkunju and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob will also attend the function. The aqua show will feature various varieties of ornamental fish, aquariums, aqua foods, medicines and related equipment.

The aqua show will also be a venue for the ornamental fish farmers in the state to interact with experts from all over the globe. The show will also feature exclusive fish from Malaysia, Singapore, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand and America. The other states including Maharashtra, Lakshwadweep, Karnataka, West Bengal and Gujarat will also have representation in the show.

CMFRI, CUSAT, NBFGR, CIFT, MPEDA and other national agencies along with Matsyafed will associate with the aqua show. The aquarium equipment from other states will also displayed in the show.
