Veteran writer M T Vasudevan Nair will present the 19th Basheer Award to actor Madhu at a function in Changampuzha Samskarika Kendram, Edapally, at 6.30 pm on Friday.
Vaikom Muhammed Basheer’s wife Faby Basheer will hand over the award money of `50,000 to Madhu. The award consists of a sculpture created by artist Namboothiri and a citation.
The award is instituted by Pravasi Doha and Pravasi Trust.Changampuzha Samskarika Kendram president K Balachandran will preside over.
Sunil P Ilayidam will deliver the Basheer commemoration speech. The `15,000 scholarship instituted in memory of Prof M N Vijayan will be handed over to Thiruvananthapuram native Rasana Begum by Madhu.
After the function, screening of documentary ‘A Momentous life in Creativity’, directed by K P Kumaran on the life of M T Vasudevan Nair, will also be held.
