Ride through the shortcuts to the city

With the main roads in the city congested heavily due to the Metro Rail work and poor condition of the roads, ‘City Express’ tracks some more pocket roads through which commuting will be hassle-free.

Commuters from Aluva can reach Ernakulam without touching the city by taking the left turn at HMT junction to the Seaport-Airport road which offers easy access to Kakkanad. Moving through Palachuvadu via Eechamukku and taking the road in front of Vennala High School will lead to the bypass.

Commuters can also go to Irumpanam from the Seaport-Airport road by keeping to the right to reach the Refinery Road. On crossing the road one can reach SN junction (Compression mukku). From there it is easy to head towards Petta junction at Vyttila. On turning left via Maradu, one can reach Kundannoor junction and proceed to Thevara and Thoppumpady.

The same stretch can be used to reach Palarivattom. A right turn from Aluva-HMT junction stretch will lead to Pipeline in Palarivattom which will take you to Samskara junction from where you can go to Stadium Link road to touch Kathrikadavu and head for Ernakulam.

Another easy option to reach Ernakulam is via Pottakuzhi through Mamangalam via Pachalam ROB to Goshree road. Those heading towards Shanmugham road from Aluva can take a deviation through Manjummal to reach the Container road. 

Another option is to take a right turn from Mamangalam to reach P J Antony Road. From there, it is to easy to get into Karukapilli. A right turn will take you to Elamakkara.

From Ernakulam one can reach Vaduthala without touching the city. Proceed towards Chathiath junction and then turn right to reach Chathiath church. Without crossing the railway line, it is easy to go to Lourde Hospital, Vaduthala, Cheranellore and Chittoor.

Commuters can take a shortcut to the city by taking the left from Vyttila ROB, proceeding beneath the bridge to reach the Sree Narayana Temple. Take the road to Chettichira and travel straight to Kaloor-Kadavanthra road and reach the KSRTC bus stand through the A L Jacob bridge.

From Thammanam-Pulleppady road, you can head for Kathrikadavu tourist home, turn left and travel in front of the CBI office to Pullepady bridge to reach MG road.
