2.4 kg of Gold Stolen from Aluva House

In a daring heist, unidentified persons made off with 300 sovereigns of gold and valuables from the house of a businessman in Aluva in the wee hours of Sunday.

In a daring heist, unidentified persons made off with 300 sovereigns of gold and valuables from the house of a businessman in Aluva in the wee hours of Sunday. After initial probe, police fixed the total value of stolen goods and ornaments at about Rs 85 lakh.

According to police, apart from gold ornaments, two Rolex watches worth Rs 5 lakh, a 45-inch LED TV, batteries of inverter, a pen worth `5,000 were among the articles looted from the house of Fyjas Ibrahim, of Pulinchuvadu, who runs a waste paper business in the district.
