Case Filed against School

Thoppumpady police on Tuesday registered a case against school authorities over an incident in which two girl students jumped off the first floor of the school.

The police said the case was registered under Section 337 of the IPC and they would record the statement of the girls soon.According to officials in Thopumpady police station, the reason behind the incident can be confirmed only after recording the statement of the girls.A police official said one of the students underwent a surgery at a private hospital on Tuesday after she suffered a fracture in her spinal cord.

The other girl had an ankle fracture and she would be discharged from the hospital soon.On Monday afternoon, the duo had jumped off the first floor of the school building. School authorities maintained that these girls used to frequently bunked the classes and their parents were summoned to the school. However, their parents alleged that teachers had objected to the children wearing coloured dress to school.
