Rupesh Paul, director of ‘Kamasutra 3D’, has filed a defamation case at the Ernakulam Chief Magistrate Court against actress Sherlyn Chopra. Rupesh alleged that Sherlyn Chopra has defamed him through various social networking sites and a case should be registered against her under 499 IPC.

As per the petition, Rupesh Paul and Sherlyn Chopra had reached in an agreement on October 27, 2012, for rendering her services for the production and promotion of the film ‘Kamasutra 3D’ for a remuneration of `25 lakhs. She was paid `five lakh as advance on the same day. She received a further amount of `11.20 lakh on August 12, 2013. He alleged that Sherlyn extracted valuable gifts from him, taking advantage of her position as an artist .

Soon after the shooting of the film began, Sherlyn became non-cooperative and insisted for more money, Rupesh alleged. According to the petition, Sherlyn was irregular at shooting sites. Whenever present, she failed to maintain the decorum and good manners at shooting sites. Rupesh said Sherlyn worked for only five days and caused huge loss to him. The shooting was abandoned on several occasions. Due to this, the quality of the movie was affected, he said.

He further alleged that on January 15, 2014, Sherlyn started posting indecent comments on social networking sites to tarnish his reputation.  The court posted the petition for hearing on March 7.
