Kerala-Karshakan

The Agriculture Department has invited applications from student farmers across the state who have cultivated their own vegetable gardens in their homesteads. Around 5,000 students will be awarded by the department as part of its ‘My Vegetable Garden Scheme’, said a release issued on Wednesday.

A picture of the student in his or her vegetable garden should be sent via email. A maximum of two pictures taken either by mobile or digital camera may be sent.

As the prize, the department will give the winners a one-year subscription to its Kerala Karshakan magazine and a kids’ farming diary.

The entry should be accompanied by the student’s name, address complete with pincode, parent or guardian’s contact number and the class and school the student is studying in. The entries may be sent before March 10 to schoolkrishi@gmail.com. For details, contact 0471-2317314.
