Anoop’s story may seem like a fantasy for those who are have tried online booking of tatkal tickets of IRCTC. While the frustrating experience of booking an online tatkal ticket is well known as the IRTC servers are reportedly incapable of taking in the flood of bookings each day, web designer Anoop P V from Elamakkara has booked almost 200 tickets online with 99 per cent success rate last year.Anoop started booking tickets online since 2011 for his own purpose. But once the word spread out about his luck with the website, people have began contacting him for tickets on a daily basis.
“I get calls all day requesting me to book other’s tickets, mostly that of friends and relatives. Since I have to cope up with my work , I book only seven tickets a week now,” said Anoop. And, he does it for free !
How do he do it ? The success rate is part-luck part-attention to minute details. “Tatkal booking starts at 10 am. I’ll get ready to book by 9.45 am. I use a tool called ‘Magic Autofill’ to save the time to fill the forms. And then, I just go in like any other person and it so happens that I get tickets,” smiles Anoop.
