'Keraleeyam-2014' to be Held Tomorrow

‘Keraleeyam-2014,’ a cultural event organised by Rotary Club of Kochi will be held at Le Meridien convention centre here on Saturday.

Rotary Club district governor K Ajayakumar will inaugurate the event at 7 pm. The programme is organised with the aim of introducing Kerala’s own cultural events nearing extinction to the younger generation.  

Various art-forms like chavittu natakam, parichamuttu kali and drama will be performed as part of the event, said the office-bearers of Rotary Club at a press conference. The amount collected from the event will be given to orphanages and juvenile homes.

The event will start with a painting competition for school students in the district. The competition titled ‘ente keralam’ will be held in sub-junior, junior and senior categories.
