Killer Gang Member Held

The shadow police on Thursday arrested Joseph V J alias Jaison, 37, of Vaduthala, who was part of a killer gang that hacked a Vaduthala resident in October last year. Joseph was wanted in many goondaism cases in the district.

Joseph.jpgAccording to police officials, Kannan was hacked by Joseph and two others after a fight broke over the filling up of a plot of land. The police had identified the weapon used for hacking from Joseph’s house. The North police have a case registered against him for killing a person in 1996. In 1999, yet another case was booked against him for assaulting a person. In 2000, he hacked a Pachalam resident and had gone absconding.  Joseph was also involved in bomb-making and the police had registered a case against him in this regard. In 2002, the Thrikkakara police registered a case against him after some people filed a complaint against him for stealing `1 lakh while playing cards. Joseph had assaulted two residents of Vaduthala. The police registered a case against him for possessing weapons.
