CG Holds Walkathon for 'Green Earth'

Highlighting the theme ‘Walk for green Earth, pure air and clean water’, the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 4 organised a walkathon on Saturday from Fort Kochi to Veli and back, covering a distance of 6 km.

Highlighting the theme ‘Walk for green Earth, pure air and clean water’, the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 4 organised a walkathon on Saturday from Fort Kochi to Veli and back, covering a distance of 6 km.

The walkathon was flagged off by District Headquarters’ Commander DIG T K S Chandran. Over 100 personnel from various units of the Indian Coast Guard in Kochi took part in the walkathon.

The walkathon was organised as part of a series of community events conducted by the Coast Guard district headquarters to commemorate its 37th Raising Day.

The objective of the walkathon was to spread awareness on environment conservation and emphasise on the need to plant trees, save water, ban plastic, and reducing pollution and garbage.
