Interactive Session Conducted

Senior Economic Advisor, (Additional Secretary), Ministry of Finance H A C Prasad said that food inflation at 10 per cent was a cause of concern at a time when India GDP was brought down owing to global economic climate.

He was speaking at an interactive session jointly organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and  Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) the other day to discuss the various prospects and bottlenecks faced by the exporters and importers.

“The World Economy is mostly connected with the World GDP,” he said.   Prasad stressed that the world economy was important for both export and import to pick up.

The members of export-import community brought to the notice of Prasad the various issues faced by them which are mainly related to the Customs and Port Authorities. The additional secretary promised to sort out the problems and bring the same to the attention of the government.

 ICCI president A A Abdul Azeez, welcomed the gathering and FIEO assistant director A K Vijaykumar spoke.
