The Rest houses managed by Public Works Department (PWD) are a part of Kerala’s culture, said Public Works Minister V K Ebrahimkunju here on Monday.
He was speaking at the reception accorded to him by the Citizen Forum meet for reducing the rent of the Rest Houses managed by PWD. “Most of the ideas for Malayalam movies and scripts were materialised insidethe rooms of the Rest Houses in the state. Realising that they are a part of our culture, we have decided to slash the rent of the PWD Rest Houses by 50 percent which will make them available for common man,” Ebrahimkunju said. Justice K Narayanakurup, who inaugurated the meet, said Minister K Ebrahimkunju is a ‘small’ man who implements ‘big’ projects and ideas. The meet was presided over by Human Rights activist Jomon Puthenpurackal.
